Here's the most dissonant number in this Finals: the home team is 0-3. The Knicks went to San Antonio and took both games — 105-95 behind Brunson's 30-point masterclass, then a 105-104 nail-biter where Wembanyama's potential game-winner rimmed out at the buzzer. Then the series shifted to the Garden, and the Spurs stole Game 3, 115-111.

MSG hasn't hosted a Finals game since 1999. The building waited 27 years for this. And the visiting team walked in and won anyway.

Now the pattern needs to break. If the Knicks drop Game 4 at home, it's 2-2 heading back to San Antonio. If they win, they take a commanding 3-1 lead and can close it out on the road — which, in this series, might actually be the preferred venue.

Wembanyama has been ascending: 26, 29, 32 points across three games. His PER of 26.5 leads all Finals players. Stephon Castle has been the quiet engine at 6.5 APG in the playoffs. On the other side, KAT's 19.5 PPG and 12.5 RPG in the Finals was tracking toward MVP — until Game 3 went sideways.

The angle: home-court advantage has been a liability in this series. The Knicks are -2.5 and need to prove that MSG is still MSG.

The Athletics' temporary home in Las Vegas has produced a total so large it barely looks like a baseball number. The 14.5 over/under for tonight's MIL-ATH tilt is the highest posted in the majors this season — and it might still be low.

On June 8, the opener of this series went 15-14 in 12 innings. Eleven home runs. Las Vegas Ballpark sits at roughly 2,000 feet of elevation with no upper deck to block the wind. It's not Coors, but it's playing like a park that doesn't want to keep the ball inside it.

Brandon Sproat (1-4, 6.17 ERA) toes the rubber for Milwaukee against Jack Perkins (4.76 ERA), who was a reliever earlier this season before moving into the rotation. The Brewers average 5.38 runs per game; the Athletics average 4.35. Combined, that's roughly 9.7 — meaning the market is pricing in a nearly five-run premium over the teams' baseline output.
